Branching out with a new line from a heritage brand

When HOHNER, a renowned 160-year old brand, set out to create a line of eco-friendly children’s instruments that would not only be safe for little hands but also for the planet, they knew it was a daunting task. The market was already inundated with musical toys for children and we had to make sure we weren’t just another forgettable tune. But with the Green Tones line, we knew we had a chance to make a real difference.

As the lead creative, I set out to incorporate natural elements that would appeal to both children and parents. We played with playful designs and emphasized the use of sustainable and eco-friendly materials, from rubber wood instrument bodies to recycled paper packaging and water-based inks. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure that our instruments not only stimulated cognitive development but also minimized our impact on the environment.

The result? An award-winning brand that not only found success in the marketplace but also made a positive impact on the planet. Green Tones established HOHNER as a leader in sustainable and ethical business practices and received accolades from parents, educators, and industry experts alike. The Green Tones line is not just any line of musical toys but a shining example of how a brand can make a difference and create a positive impact on the world. And that’s music to our ears!
